What is wellness?
Generally speaking, wellness is a healthy balance of mind, body, and spirit that promotes an overall sense of well-being.
There are several ideas out there that discuss the concept of wellness ‘dimensions’ and the number of dimensions wellness can be divided into. I like and relate best with the concept of “7 Dimensions of Wellness”:
I believe that often times, we get into the pattern of focusing on one or two of these dimensions and labeling them as what makes up our health and our life. Stepping outside of the food and fitness box and focusing on these seven dimensions may help you increase your overall sense of well-being, and in turn perhaps increase your overall health.
